Retainers
If you already wear retainers, you’ll need to get them regularly cleaned, and you might need to get them adjusted or replaced. Our expert orthodontists will be able to help with making a replacement retainer or making sure your retainer is free of plaque or tartar.
At Premium Cosmetic Laser Center, we understand that achieving a straight smile is a significant investment in your confidence and oral health. Once your braces or clear aligners are removed, the "retention phase" begins. This is the most critical stage of your orthodontic journey to ensure your teeth do not shift back to their original positions
Sustain a happy, healthy smile.
What to Expect
When coming to the appointment, you’ll need to wear your retainer and bring your retainer case. Your orthodontist will have you bite down on a mold with the retainer on, and then again with the retainer off. This lets your orthodontist figure out if your retainer needs to be adjusted or re-fitted.
Your orthodontist will also make sure your retainer is clean and hygienic to keep your teeth safe.
The Essential Role of Dental Retainers
Retainers are custom-made orthodontic appliances designed to hold teeth in their new positions after active treatment. Without a retainer, "relapse" can occur as the ligaments and bone around your teeth take time to stabilize.
- Preventing Tooth Movement: Teeth have a natural tendency to drift; retainers provide the necessary support during the remodeling of the jawbone.
- Long-term Stability: Consistent use ensures that the results of months or years of orthodontic work are preserved.
- Improving Oral Health: Properly aligned teeth are easier to clean, reducing the risk of plaque buildup and gum disease.
