Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) is a natural product created from your own body that has a high concentration of Platelet cells. This procedure has a long and proven history in the area of joint healing, dentistry and reconstructive surgery. Recently, PRP has been applied successfully in the area of cosmetic dermatology by injecting it in the skin to treat specific area and to refresh the tone of the skin.

Platelet-rich plasma is found naturally in the blood and is responsible for cell development, clotting, and healing.

What Should I expect during the PRP procedure?

The procedure starts by taking a small sample of your own blood and putting it in a sterile tube to be processed through a special machine. While the PRP is being prepared, your skin will be cleaned and prepared. Several small injections using a very fine needle will be performed. Only mild discomfort and local swelling or bruising can be seen and will fade in few hours. There are no restrictions or down time from your daily routine after the procedure.

What to Expect

Before Treatment

Avoid any forms of tanning for 2-3 weeks, including tanning beds, self-tanner, sun exposure etc.
No waxing, tweezing, threading, plucking or any other means of hair removal that will remove the hair follicle for at least 2-3 weeks before your treatment. Shaving Only! (Recommended.)

During Treatment

We will prepare the treated area by drawing white lines exactly where the treatments will take place.
Treatments average just under 30 minutes.

After Treatment

You’ll need to keep the treated area out of the sun for at least a week.
Treated hair may fall out 7-21 days after treatment.
