How does Fraxel DUAL laser treatment work?
The two wavelengths used in the Fraxel Dual laser can target different layers of the skin, allowing the treatment to be customized based on the individual's skin concerns. The 1927 nm wavelength targets the top layer of the skin, improving mild pigmentation, fine lines, and texture, while the 1550 nm wavelength penetrates deeper into the skin to stimulate collagen production and improve sever sun damage skin tone and texture.
What to Expect
Before Treatment
Avoid any forms of tanning for 2 weeks, including tanning beds, self-tanner, sun exposure etc.
Avoid Topical peeling agents such as Vitamin A derivatives (retinol or Alpha Hydroxy Acid) 1 week before treatment
Avoid any procedure that can danger the skin integrity such as microblading, chemical peel for 2 weeks
Avoid Oral Accutane, for 6 months to a year prior to the Fraxel procedure
Avoid aspirin or anti-inflammatory medications for 5 days prior or 5 days after procedure.
During Treatment
First, your skin will be cleansed.
A topical anesthetic ointment will be applied to the treatment area.
The Fraxel® DUAL procedure takes 25 to 30 minutes for a full face.
After Treatment
Most patients experience 1-2 days of swelling, 2-4 days of redness
4-7 days flaking, Crusting will appear on the 3rd day and peels within 1st week
Recovery time 7-10 days
Continue gentle cleansing and moisturizing over the next few days
Avoid scrubbing, rubbing, or using exfoliants for 1 week
Wear a broad-spectrum sunscreen of SPF 30 or higher
