What to Expect

Before placing the Inlays / Onlays, a consultation is done to check the tooth that’ll be receiving the filling. An X-ray will also be taken of the tooth and the bone around it. Your dentist might have to do a root canal prior to the filling being placed if there are signs of tooth decay or risk of infection.

Next, your dentist will prepare and clean the defective tooth or unsightly fillings, silicon will be used to make impressions of your teeth and to assess how the filling will fit into your bite. Once that’s done, your porcelain filling will be inserted inside your tooth. Bonding proses may actually improve the strength of the tooth and help seal the Inlay / Onlay to the tooth.
