What to do?
Gently exercise treated muscles (raise eyebrows, smile, purse lips) for a few hours after treatment to help Botox settle.
What to Avoid?
- Do not rub, massage, or press on the treated area for 24 hours.
- Avoid lying flat for 4 hours.
- Avoid alcohol for 24 hours.
- Avoid aspirin, ibuprofen, or other NSAIDs for 24 hours (you may use Tylenol for headaches).
- Avoid strenuous exercise for 24 hours.
- Avoid hot showers, saunas, or steam rooms for 24 hours.
- Avoid makeup for 4 hours.
- Avoid facials, skin treatments, or massage in the treated area for 7 days.
Possible side effects are:
- Mild headache.
- Small bruises at injection sites (resolve in 3–7 days).
- Rare: eyelid drooping or double vision — usually temporary and resolves in 3–4 weeks. Contact your provider if this occurs.
- Contact your provider if this occurs. It typically resolves on its own within 3 – 4 weeks.
